About NZ Bouldering Notes
NZ Bouldering Notes is an independent site written by a small group of editors who climb. We write practical notes about New Zealand bouldering: where people boulder and how to look after those places, how competitions are run and scored, how the national competition scene developed, and how to build and care for a wall at home.
Who we are not
We are not the New Zealand Alpine Club, Climbing New Zealand, the national indoor bouldering series, any climbing gym, or the people who organised the competitions that once used this web address. We don't run events, take entries or publish official rules or results. You can read about this address's past in our archive note.
For current events, check the organisers' site. The official national indoor series site and Climbing New Zealand are the places to start.
How we write
- We check facts against primary or well-established sources and link to them, mostly government agencies, federations and encyclopaedia articles.
- We don't name competitors, publish results or write profiles of people.
- Building and safety notes are general guidance from climbers, not engineering or legal advice. Where it matters, we tell you to ask your council or a qualified professional.
- We don't run advertising trackers or analytics on this site.
